Services
Milestone School works closely with the Committee for Preschool Special Education (CPSE) and DOHMH Early Intervention Program (EI). Our services are provided by NYS certified Special Education teachers and licensed therapists.| Our educational program currently offers five different educational programs: |
| • Integrated program (a grouping of students receiving special education services with typically developing students), |
| • Full Day Special Class (5 hours a day of services with a 12:1:2 ratio of students to special educator to paraprofessional), |
| • Full Day Special Class (5 hours a days of services with a 10:1:3 ratio of students to special educator to paraprofessional for children who require more individual attention and instruction), |
| • Full Day ABA Special Class (5 hours a day of services utilizing an Applied Behavior Analysis approach for working with learners with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Delays {PDD} with an 8:1:2 ratio of students to special educator to paraprofessional), and |
| • Half Day Special Class (Two and a half hours a day with a 12:1:2 ratio of students to special educator to paraprofessional). |
Early Intervention (Serving the special needs of children birth to three years of age. Our services include diagnostic evaluations and center-based educational programs.)
| We offer the following related services to children enrolled in our program: |
| • Speech and language therapy to increase a child’s vocabulary, articulation, and use of language. |
| • Occupational therapy to build strength and skills in a child’s fine motor skills. Additionally, we provide sensory integration services for children who demonstrate difficulties in processing information through their five senses. |
| • Physical therapy to build strength and skills in a child’s gross motor skills required for mobility, jumping, coordination, and balance. |
| • Counseling to increase a child’s ability to engage with peers, tolerate classroom demands, and work cooperatively at home and in the classroom. |
| Additional Services available: |
| • Child care available Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 3:30pm and extended child care Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 7:00pm |
| • Year-round program |
| • Indoor recreation space, music and movement, art therapy |
| • Breakfast and lunch are available for eligible families |
| • Registered Nurse on site |
| • Licensed by the New York City Department of Health |
| • Enhanced Universal Pre-K |
